Each month Ingleton Wood add to a team building fund for each office, enabling staff to organise events, be it sporting activities, trips away, days out, fundraising or general socialising. Earlier this Summer, our London office enjoyed a day at Ascot, other offices are planning their events at the moment but ideas include a cryptic treasure trail and white water rafting, more details to follow! Most recently the Colchester office spent a sunny afternoon in Dedham on the Essex/ Suffolk border. With chilled prosecco and beers flowing staff enjoyed a delightful picnic spread all organised by the Social Committee amongst picturesque surroundings. After lunch there was a general knowledge quiz, 28 staff were split into 7 teams each competing through 7 rounds. The hotly contested title went to The Tigers winning first dibs of the rubber duck for the upcoming ‘cat and mouse’ boat race! Each team took to their Clinker built rowing boats for the race along the river Stour. We didn’t quite make it to Flatford Mill, the Mill made famous by John Constable, which is a mile and a half row along the river, as our rowing capabilities left a lot to be desired! The race was neck and neck and a few of us nearly ended up in the river attempting to snatch the rubber duck being towed by opponents’ boats. There were some controversial tactical manoeuvres by some, with other teams having trouble keeping out the reeds! However we all made it back to the dock with The Dedham Deadly's taking the title! After the excitement of the race, celebratory drinks were taken in the warm summer sun in the garden at Dedham’s finest inn, The Sun. A great time was had by all, watch this space for further updates of our team building activities! |
