Passivhaus

Through their trained assessors, accredited to the PassivHaus Institute in Darmstadt, Ingleton Wood has the expertise to design both new buildings and refurbishments meeting PassivHaus principles.

By considering solar and internal heat gains and designing the external envelope with very good levels of insulation, minimal thermal bridges and low air permeability, the total energy demand for space heating and cooling can be reduced to around 20% of a standard house built to the current Building Regulations, and therefore can make a major contribution to addressing fuel poverty.

There are at present very few accredited Passivhaus dwellings in the UK, but with one of the largest Passivhaus schemes in the UK totalling around 180 units currently being developed, Ingleton Wood hopes to remain at the forefront of this low-energy approach.

By offering this service as part of our environmental design expertise, Ingleton Wood can evaluate the most appropriate sustainable approach for any project, and offer innovative design solutions utilising the latest technologies.
