Success in the Conservation sector

The practice has extensive experience of conversion and refurbishment of historic buildings, many of them listed. Converted uses include commercial, residential, social and community.

Refurbishment of historic buildings is a complex process, involving close co-operation of the design team to resolve often conflicting issues of conservation and introduction of modern technologies. As a multi-disciplinary practice, Ingleton Wood can offer a comprehensive in-house consultancy for works to existing buildings, including architecture, building surveying, building services design, party walls, CDM Co-ordination and interior design services.

Ingleton Wood's approach to conservation projects is to work in close cooperation with the Local Authority's Conservation Officer, and English Heritage where they are involved. Our Planning team can assist with submitting the Planning and Listed Building applications, supported by detailed Design and Access Statements, and managing the determination process for achieving consent.

The Practice has won several conservation and Civic Trust Awards, including a Broadland District Council Enhancement Award for barn conversions in Little Plumstead.

We can assist with planned maintenance of historic buildings, for example our Framework Agreement with London Borough of Enfield includes the Grade II*-listed Millfield House.
