London office recently held their latest Ingleton Wood funded team building event - an Olympics inspired treasure hunt/ team challenge.
Following a briefing from our designated event coordinator, staff were split into teams and issued with iPads loaded with the treasure hunt app powered by GPRS. The event was a combination of Olympics related questions which earnt 10 points for each correct answer as well as photo and video challenges which could earn up to 50 points each, all marked by the event coordinator with the most inventive being awarded higher points.
Teams made their way to set locations using the app and once in the vicinity the next challenge or question was unlocked.
A few of the photo and video challenges caused quite a stir amongst confused onlookers including rush hour commuters and tourists witnessing sights such as 3 men laying behind a brick wall with their legs in the air performing a ‘synchronized swim’ routine. Puzzled tourists at the Tower of London were even asked to perform a ‘Mexican Wave’ on camera!
All teams were instructed to return back to a set location (coincidently this being a nearby watering hole) once the challenge had concluded and our event coordinator totted up the final scores whilst staff enjoyed a few well earned drinks. A presentation on a big screen followed, showing the funniest photos and videos from the challenge, before the winners were announced. The evening was topped off with pizza, cocktails and plenty of dancing.
All staff agreed it was a great way of getting to know fellow colleagues even better and it was a very enjoyable day.
