We are proud to announce the recent opening ceremony of Phase 1 of Appleton School's new sixth form centre with Rebecca Harris MP (Castlepoint) and the Mayoress in attendance. Terry Andrews, Director and Building Surveyor and Iain Bramhill, Associate and Architect were at the event, both of whom have been involved with the master planning of the school over a number of years. The new centre comprises of 6 classrooms and a canteen facility built within the footprint of the old gymnasium. Rebecca Harris gave a few words at the ceremony saying how impressed she was with the new facility and it being a positive step for the continuing growth of the school. The Headteacher, Karen Kerridge, explained of the exciting 2-phase project for the sixth form centre, the next phase being a new build, Project Managed by Chris Mabbutt, Associate and Building Surveyor of Ingleton Wood. The new steelwork has now been erected, due for completion in late July 2015. |
