Fans of the beautiful game turned out in force for Ingleton Wood’s charity football tournament in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich.
The annual fundraiser took place at Rushmere Sports Club and proved more popular than ever, with 12 teams from across our client base competing in two leagues of six.
Among those taking part were roof manufacturer Bauder, mechanical and electrical contractors Bower Fuller, construction firm SEH French, recruitment specialists Conrad Consulting, Gipping Construction, Langley roofing, Phelan Construction, RG Carter builders and law firm Prettys.
In the final, Ellisons solicitors beat Ensors accountants 3-0 – lifting the trophy for the first time after losing in the penalty shootout at last year’s event.
The afternoon was a huge success and raised a total of £685 for St Elizabeth Hospice, which provides vital support for people living with a progressive illness and their families
David Cresswell, Partner at Ingleton Wood said: “St Elizabeth Hospice provides vital support for people and their families when they need it most. It is an incredibly worthwhile cause and we are only too happy to do what we can to help.
“The football tournament is an annual event and incredibly popular among our staff and clients. I’d like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to help organise the event and who took part.”
Ollie Langham, Corporate Partnership Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Ingleton Wood for their support, not only through this tournament but for their ongoing fundraising for us over the last four years.
“It was an incredible day and everyone had a lot of fun but the serious side to this is that the money raised will remain in the area to help local people needing end of life care.”
