Worried about the cost of university? Kick start your career with Ingleton Wood’s undergraduate scheme Thursday, 9th August 2018

Students interested in starting an exciting career in the property and construction sector without the worry of mounting university debt can now apply for Ingleton Wood’s successful undergraduate scheme.

Our Colchester-based Practice is on the lookout for young people who have just completed their A-Levels for roles that include trainee architects, architectural technicians, building surveyors and structural engineers.

We will train successful candidates in their chosen discipline and sponsor them through a part-time industry-accredited degree at either Anglia Ruskin University or one of the London Universities – meeting the cost of all tuition fees.

The chosen individual will also be provided with study expenses and study leave, along with a competitive holiday and salary package.

Partner David Cresswell said: “We have always been passionate about supporting young people and nurturing the talent of the future.

“It’s a superb opportunity to start a career in an exciting and fast paced sector – while gaining real, hands-on experience at a growing and forward-thinking Practice, with the added advantage of having no university debt at the end of it.

“We’re looking for people with drive, commitment and a thirst for knowledge that enjoy working within a team environment. I would encourage anyone interested to get in touch.”

Ingleton Wood has offices throughout the East of England and London. Our services include architecture, building surveying, building services engineering, planning, interior design, civil and structural engineering, quantity surveying, project management and health and safety.

Working across housing, healthcare, education, leisure, industrial, commercial and defence, our recent projects include the Winerack in Ipswich, the new breast services centre at Colchester Hospital and the recent expansion of the Gilberd School.

Chartered Building Surveyor Charlie Holmes, who has been through the programme, said: “I started when I was 18 and it’s been a hugely rewarding experience.

“I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a 1st Class degree and since then I haven’t looked back.Late last year I also passed my professional qualifications with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, which Ingleton Wood again helped with.

“The difference is the sense of responsibility we have for each other and our belief in the Ingleton Wood family. We genuinely believe in providing a vibrant and collaborative working environment to ensure everyone achieves their goals.

“Whether staff are just starting out, bedding into their role or are moving through the management structure of the Practice, the senior team encourages employees to fulfil their professional ambitions whilst maintaining a healthy work/life balance.”

Ingleton Wood is an equal opportunities employer and has been included in Building Magazine's top 75 Good Employers Guide for the Industry. We have also successfully retained Investors in People accreditation since 2010, with particular recognition to the support and training we give to staff development.
