Ingleton Wood are currently working on an exciting 5 acre riverside site within central Norwich for Orbit Homes. The scheme of 26 blocks comprises of 437 units of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and studio flats. The historic site is said to be the 4th most interesting heritage site in the city. It is nestled within the historic quarter and sits adjacent to the Grade 1 listed Dragon Hall. The site includes Howard House, built for Norfolk’s Lord-Lieutenant in the mid 1600’s, and a Grade 2 Listed Building. Archaeological excavations commenced in June with findings dating back 800 years which include a silver brooch, papal seal and coins to name a few. The site was originally an old friary, as well as a church and a brewery. The buildings will be contemporary in style and will include state of the art ventilation systems built to the highest insulation and acoustic standards. The construction will use an off-site prefabricated light gauge metal framing system, clad in a brickwork and panelling system with slim line structural glass projecting balconies. Works are due for completion mid-2017. |
