The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) is a set of Regulations in force in Great Britain that govern the way construction projects of all types, sizes and durations are managed.
The purpose of the Regulations are to focus the attention of the whole project team on the Health and Safety aspects of the project from the outset. CDM 2015 aims to achieve this by improving planning and management, facilitating the early identification of hazards and to ensure that resource is directed to derive the greatest benefit from a Health and Safety perspective.
The CDM Regulations enable the integration of Health and Safety throughout the management structure of a project, by integrating the Client’s team, the design team and all contractors involved. This works to encourage all parties involved in the project to work together.
