Ingleton Wood were appointed to provide full multi-disciplinary pre-contract and post-contract design and project management services to convert existing office premises into Suffolk Constabulary’s new Ipswich Police Station.
The building comprises two parts; a 3-storey 19th Century Listed Georgian mid-terraced solid brickwork building to the street frontage and a modern steel frame and brickwork extension to the rear.
The existing main entrance was retained as the new public entrance to the building and internal alterations were undertaken to provide a new front desk and adjacent interview rooms.
Ingleton Wood consulted with the Local Conservation Officer and prepared the requisite application for Listed Building Consent.
Internal alteration and refurbishment works were undertaken to the remainder of the building to provide accommodation for various Police teams.
