Ingleton Wood were appointed by Mayflower High School in Billericay, a longstanding client of our Billericay office, to prepare a Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) bid. The bid was for replacement of four dilapidated demountable buildings with a new purpose built six classroom teaching block.
Ingleton Wood developed an initial design and obtained planning approval for the scheme. An ‘Employer’s Requirements’ document for a modular construction was prepared and this, together with the design, were submitted for tender. This information coupled with a statement of need, formed the basis of the CIF bid which was successful securing the funding for the project.
Once the contractor was appointed, the works were completed within 6 months, on programme and delivered within budget.
The resultant classroom block is fully compliant with the Building Bulletin’s and all statutory legislation, performing to a high standard of thermal and acoustic performance.
The new block boasts office space, WC’s and lift, together with a VRF heating and cooling system, all of which are incorporated within the design and scope of the finished building.
