Shipton House

Shipton House

Ingleton Wood were appointed by Peabody Trust to act as CDM Coordinator in connection with the conversion of existing flats to form 18No new dementia support units and common facilities.

The works involved structural alterations of the existing flats to provide the desired accommodation layout. Each unit was fitted out with new electrical power and lighting, heating, fixtures and fittings.

Externally the previously exposed balconies which provide access to the units were enclosed with a system of patent glazing to give protection from the weather thereby improving the environment for occupiers.

The external common access areas were landscaped which resulted in an improvement of the environment.

Following receipt of the Designers risk assessment, Ingleton Wood provided the contractor with Pre-Construction information for the contractor to develop their own Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan. Ingleton Wood subsequently confirmed this had been adequately developed before work commenced on site. Upon completion of the project Ingleton Wood produced a Health and safety File, for retention by the Client, incorporating an Operating and Maintenance Manual relating to the various aspects of the construction works.
