Property and construction consultancy Ingleton Wood is pleased to be sponsoring a talented young student artist as part of a new initiative to help raise funds to create a new SEND (special educational needs and disability) outdoor learning space at a college in Suffolk.
The Painting for Change initiative has been created by East Anglian law firm Ellisons Solicitors which has invited more than 60 art students at One Sixth Form College to produce artwork on the theme of ‘Connections’.
The work of around 20 students will then be displayed at an exclusive gala exhibition. Each piece of artwork will have a dedicated corporate sponsor, such as Ingleton Wood, which will be supporting the young artists. As well as a business networking opportunity, this will be the first time many of the students would have had their artwork exhibited.
All funds raised will go towards the planned creation of a new SEND outdoor learning space at One Sixth Form College, based in Ipswich.
Ingleton Wood is proud to be a corporate sponsor and has already been matched with a talented young student artist who the Practice is currently supporting.
David Cresswell, Managing Partner at Ingleton Wood, said: “Our Practice has a proud history of supporting local charities and good causes that make a real difference in the communities where we live and work, delivering a sustainable and positive impact.
“That’s why we jumped at the chance to support the fantastic Painting for Change initiative at One Sixth Form College and raise vital funds to support their ambition to create a new SEND outdoor learning space for the local community in Ipswich and surrounding areas.
“We have been partnered up with an incredibly talented young artist and we look forward to meeting her and every student at the upcoming exhibitions and providing our full support.”
Lloyd Evans, Head of Visual Arts Department at One Sixth Form College, said: “The Painting for Change initiative is a fantastic project which the Visual Arts department at One Sixth Form College are excited to be part of.
“While raising vital funds for Supported Learning students, it also presents our young artists an amazing platform to showcase their fantastic work. We look forward to working together towards the final exhibition in June.”
Guy Longhurst, Managing Partner of Ellisons Solicitors, said: “Painting for Change not only supports the development of young artists but will also help to fund a desperately-needed new outdoor space for special educational needs students to learn safely outside the classroom.
“We are hugely grateful for our corporate sponsors who have made this possible and we look forward to seeing the art produced by such talented young artists.”
