Ingleton Wood are proud to be featured in the new Department of Health HBN 08-02 Dementia-friendly Health and Social Care Environments.
We worked closely with Bedford Hospital NHS Trust, BPHA, Anchor Housing Association and Bedford Council to obtain £1.0m funding from the Department of Health and designed 4 schemes of which the scheme at Dame Alice Court was one. Click here for further information on the project.
The aim was to provide a synchronised design with integrated dementia friendly features across all 4 sites to improve care for people living with dementia in Bedford and reduce unnecessary length of stay in hospital.
We undertook wide consultation over the design features and refurbishment elements of this and the other schemes, to produce a bespoke coordinated design, including way-finding to thoroughly enhance the physical environment in each of the properties.
