Reinstatement Cost Assessments

Ingleton Wood has significant experience in preparing Reinstatement Cost Assessments (RCA), always to suit needs of clients and their insurers. The purpose is to identify the cost of reconstructing a building in the event of partial or total loss by an insured risk.

The independent and accurate assessment of the reinstatement cost of a property removes the risk of unnecessarily high premiums and potential service charge disputes on recovery from Tenants. Furthermore, this accuracy is essential to remove the risk of under-insurance.

We undertake a tailored approach to suit the client requirements and those of their insurers. Our involvement can include an inspection and hand measurements and review of drawings. Of key importance is our knowledge of different forms of construction across the range of commercial, residential, healthcare, education and leisure sectors. Our quantity surveyor prepared RCAs clearly and concisely set out the basis of preparation, published cost data reference and workings, to produce a ‘day one’ cost assessment. We can also assist with annual desktop re-assessments based on published indices.
