“I would like to say that since we started working with Ingleton Wood in January 2020 they have been invaluable in obtaining 3 new planning consents for schemes and are providing support on a number of further schemes that are currently going through the pre-planning application phase.

As a small Borough Council without dedicated resources internally and sites that are predominately disused garages, we are very reliant on Ingleton Wood to interpret our outline brief and present schemes that fully utilise our general compact sites. They are always quick to help evolve the plans as surveys and other professional advice is received and ensure that any proposals meet the planning requirements currently in force, any comments received as part of pre-planning advice are quickly responded to and solutions found that address these without compromising the objectives of the scheme. They also look to address future requirements so that we develop schemes that see us leading the way into a sustainable future, in fact the Council are now incorporating air source heat pumps as well as EV charging points and solar energy into all its new developments ahead of most of the private sector developments in the Borough as a direct result of input from Ingleton Wood. The new homes being built will secure much needed affordable housing within a borough where housing costs are relatively high and properties limited.

With such confidence in the planning application we took the decision to run the tender exercise for the build contract simultaneously with the planning application and following a successful return of tenders we are on track to achieve a start on site within eight months of submitting the planning application.

“Cocksedge Building Contractors worked with Andrew Collett of Ingleton Wood at the Chevington Close development, formerly known as South Close for Havebury Housing Partnership. The development involved a combination of flats and houses with varying degrees of adaptation for special needs.

Andrew provided detailed well thought through design drawings, achieved by listening and enhancing the client’s brief to enable the project team to produce an end product that we could all be proud of.

We were delighted with Andrew’s input to the development, not only providing the design and architectural construction drawings, but at short notice he could meet on site to discuss any site issues that required architectural input, and as a result quick decisions were made ensuring works remained on programme.

During the construction works, Andrew ensured that the Architects design was adhered to whilst not being overly precious in considering minor changes to the design to fit the client and end user needs.
