Ingleton Wood LLP were selected following a competitive tender process to work with Big Sky Developments (SNC Private Housing Development Vehicle) to develop a mixed-use site immediately adjacent to the SNC offices in Long Stratton.
The scheme comprises a total of 50 residential dwellings ranging from 2-4 bedrooms, including 1 wheelchair accessible bungalow and 5 homes allocated for affordable rent.
The development also includes a commercial office block providing small start up units. The unusual form of the building is derived from the existing site constraints and provides an individual and unique office environment. The building is constructed using LGS framing system which was selected for its lightness and efficiency in the construction phase.
The challenging and steeply sloping site required close working with the design team and contractor. The client’s aspirations were to establish a design led, contemporary scheme which delivered the appropriate return for the venture.
