Regulation Compliance

Our team provide the full range of regulation compliance services and can assist in the development of compliant buildings at an early stage in the project. We can use modelling data to help establish and meet sustainability targets for your development.

Part L Calculations (SAP & SBEM)

Part L calculations are required for new build properties and conversion/refurbishments where materials changes are proposed.

Our fully accredited team can provide Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) and Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM) calculations for Part L compliance. No project is too big or too small, we work on one-off dwellings and large complex mixed use developments.

We always undertake Part L calculations as part of a consultancy service, providing a superior service by not only looking at compliance but always looking objectively and advising whether a more economic or sustainable route can be taken.

Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)

An EPC is required whenever a property is built, sold or rented and is needed before marketing the property for sale or rent.

We provide EPCs for all types of projects for domestic and non-domestic properties. Our team is fully accredited and independently audited against government criteria for the production of EPCs.

Display Energy Certificates (DEC)

Public buildings over 500m2 that are frequently visited by members of the public are required to display a DEC in a prominent place.

Our assessors are fully accredited and independently audited against government criteria for the production of DECs.

Psi Value Calculations

Thermal bridging (psi value) calculations are a measure of the heat loss through thermal bridges –junctions in the building fabric. It is estimated that as U values improve up to 30% of the remaining heat loss in a building could come from poorly detailed junctions.

Psi value calculations have an important part in ensuring that a building has been detailed in the most efficient way possible. Our trained assessors can provide these calculations to BS standards suitable for use in both Part L and Passivhaus calculations.

Part G Calculations

Water efficiency calculations can be provided to assist in compliance with Part G of the building regulations. For design stage we will provide a performance specification for sanitary fittings and update using supplied fittings for as built calculations.

Green Deal Assessments

Green Deal Assessments are part of a government scheme that identifies energy-saving improvements to your property and then proposes the best way to pay for them.

From 2018 all properties rented will be required to have an EPC rating of A-D. If you have a property that is rated E or lower, a Green Deal Assessment will be required to help you identify improvements to your property before the new legislation comes into force.

Green Deal Assessments are also required where Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments applications are made. If you are planning to install a low or zero carbon heating system such as solar hot water panels, or heat pumps we can help you meet the requirements and claim your RHI payments.

Sustainability Impact Assessments

A Sustainability Impact Assessment is a useful check to see whether a course of action – be that relocating, commencing new build or any other organisational change – has a broadly beneficial or detrimental effect on the use of resources, pollution and your Carbon footprint. We can use your SIA structure or develop a bespoke format for you.
