Ingleton Wood’s experienced healthcare team were appointed as Architects, Interior Designers, Building Services Engineers and Contract Administrator for this prestigious new project to form the Fetal Medicine Centre at Southend University Hospital, the only one of its kind in Essex.
This was a highly prestigious design-led project, being funded by a charitable donation from the Fetal Medicine Foundation, set up by the world renowned expert in fetal intervention, Professor Kypros Nicolaides. The unit is affiliated to the world renowned Harris Birthright Centre at Kings College Hospital and will become a leading regional centre for the assessment and treatment of unborn babies.
Ingleton Wood were employed on a tight programme to design and manage the construction of the facility to form seven new ultrasound scanning suites, welcome and waiting area and ancillary clinical, patient and staff areas. The scheme was delivered on time within budget and has received much praise since its opening by the Professor in November, featuring on BBC television news.
We have a long standing relationship with Southend University Hospital, having successfully completed projects over many years and were excited to be part of this scheme from its inception through to completion.
