Sustainability

At Ingleton Wood we strive to be at the cutting edge of sustainable solutions for the built environment. We are a signatory to the RIBA’s 2030 Climate Challenge and we work at every stage of a project to assist clients in developing low carbon building solutions fit for our future climate. From inception, design, through to post occupancy evaluation and performance monitoring, our full range of consultancy support is helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals.

Integrating our sustainability team at every project stage, means we can help clients go beyond Building Regulations to achieve ambitious strategic sustainability goals for occupants and future generations by informing design decisions in a holistic, multidisciplinary way.

Ensuring our designs are theoretically sustainable and perform in practice, we can undertake building performance monitoring to ensure that the sustainable design intent is translated through to operation and predicted energy and carbon savings are realised.

The delivery of sustainable buildings involves early consideration of the client brief by our architectural and building services engineering disciplines to ensure a truly integrated energy strategy is in place. Early engagement allows us to target appropriate strategic decisions, energy efficiency benchmarks, and to provide appropriate and cutting-edge advice on renewable technologies. Full understanding by all the relevant disciplines at an early stage allows us to fully understand our client’s intentions and aspirations, act as a unified design team to achieve these goals, and work with the contractors and end users to ensure that they are delivered.

Our team can provide standalone services or work as part of a full design team to optimise sustainability potential and help our clients achieve their sustainability goals. These deliverables can be met whilst offering best value through use of our specialist expertise and software to advise on the implementation of performance standards and the optimisation of passive design strategies.

Our environmental commitment is backed up by Ingleton Wood’s Environmental Management System which is accredited to ISO 14001:2015.
