The client wanted to develop a course to increase the understanding of the role that the historic environment can play in climate action through repairing and adapting existing buildings.
The course was carefully devised to help participants understand how to approach traditional construction and the impact of this on performance to achieve successful retrofit.
Who should attend?
This course aims to be inclusive and beneficial for anyone who works in the built environment wanting to know more about climate change adaptation or mitigation measures affecting heritage buildings and estates.
It is designed to support local authority staff, planners and other professionals whose advice-giving or decision-making affects the historic environment and its heritage. The course was devised over two months, with a pilot course delivered through the Autumn of 2024.
