We have experience in designing foundations for all ground conditions commonly found in the UK. Our expertise in Geotechnical Engineering allows us to plan and organise bespoke ground investigations for each site. Only with thorough appropriate ground investigations can risks in foundation design be minimised and managed.
The appropriate foundation is chosen once we have established the subsoil ground characteristics of the site and understand how they will behave during the construction process and when subjected to the proposed buildings loads.
Whether the ground conditions are weak such as the clayey organic soils and shrinkable clays or strong granular and rock subsoils we will propose cost effective but durable foundation designs. We have considerable experience in foundation design on shrinkable clays for both new build projects and existing buildings with strengthening underpinning systems.
We have experience in the design of the following foundations
• Conventional strip and trench fill
• Stabilised ground techniques
• Pad and Beam
• Underpinning
• Rafts, including buoyancy rafts
• Screw piles
• Sheet piling
• Displacement piles
• Driven piles
• Continuous Flight Auger piles
• Bored piles
• Dynamic compaction
