Ingleton Wood were appointed by Enterprise Property Group to provide civil and structural engineering services for this development consisting of 14 apartments and basement parking following the demolition of an existing house.
The main apartment building is constructed using timber frame for the upper three storeys which sits on a reinforced concrete podium above the semi-basement carpark. The basement was constructed using ‘open excavation’ technique with some localised areas of sheet piling where there was insufficient room to batter back the excavation.
The design team were quickly able to appraise the site and proposals in order to provide a cost affective solution to form the foundations and basement structure with minimal impact to the surrounding properties.
