To unlock the potential for any development, one of the starting points is achieving satisfactory access. Through our experienced highway engineers, we can identify a feasible access strategy, working with relevant local and national design guidance and negotiating with highway authorities. We will work with the clients’ masterplan aspirations whilst reviewing the local area for constraints to access such as trees and utilities; using an experienced highway engineer will minimise future issues.
Whether it’s a dropped kerb crossing to a single property, a traffic signal junction, a roundabout, or a new interchange to a trunk road we can provide the support to deliver the right solution.
Another key element is connecting the development to the local community by all modes of travel and to the primary road infrastructure. This can involve off-site highway design work for footways, cycleways, crossing points, traffic calming, capacity improvements, and other innovative solutions.
Ingleton Wood provides highway design from feasibility through to Section 38 and 278 approvals. We work closely and collaboratively with our civil and structural engineering colleagues throughout projects to ensure our access and highway mitigation solutions are deliverable, cost effective and fit for purpose, therefore achieving workable planning consents for our clients.
