The Gilberd School Sports Block

As part of the last expansion programme for the school, Ingleton Wood supported The Gilberd School with an application of an expansion project under the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) government initiative for a new sports hall. Ingleton Wood provided all supporting documentation to the Education Funding Authority (EFA) and the school were successful in obtaining a grant for £1.8m.

The new sports block included a new 4 court indoor sports hall, with state of the art climbing wall, new male and female changing rooms and a new practical learning space for alternative curriculum delivery.

As part of the tendering process, an extensive value engineering exercise was completed whereby Ingleton Wood worked closely with the school and the contractor to ensure that the project could be delivered to include all necessary accommodation without affecting the overall design aspiration and quality of the build.

Ingleton Wood provided a multi-disciplinary service, including all architectural, civil and structural, mechanical and electrical design, full tender and procurement delivery, contract administration and CDM services from inception through to completion.

The works were completed to the reduced value engineered budget and completed on programme.
