This social housing scheme is located only a stones’ throw from Brick Lane in East London, this scheme is the first to start regenerating the immediate area.
Ingleton Wood received full planning approval for the development and undertook the design of this disused site owned by Network Rail located between the East London line and main line into London Liverpool Street.
This is the first parcel of land to begin giving the local area back its identity. It sees the creation of a new street frontage onto Pedley Street by utilising a suitable scale in order to fit with the existing local vernacular. The scheme feeds east toward Vallance Road, where more traditional 2 and 3 storey dwellings are proposed.
The creation of a new community centre within the scheme helps the architecture blend in with the commercial environment of Vallance Road and provides valuable community facilities.
This scheme with its simple but contemporary aesthetic is soon to start on site.
