Fairfield Leisure Centre

Ingleton Wood’s experienced Local Authority team have worked in partnership with Dartford Borough Council as part of a framework agreement since 2012. As part of the framework Ingleton Wood were appointed on a prestigious refurbishment and redevelopment project of the existing leisure centre in the roles of Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveyor, CDMc and Clerk of Works for the building works and mechanical and electrical installations.

In partnership with Dartford Borough Council and Willmott Dixon under a Scape Framework Agreement, Ingleton Wood were fundamental in obtaining best price and maintaining the highest quality on a prominent redevelopment scheme, with restricted budget and timescale. Initially brought in to put a stop to rapidly increasing costs and to achieve a fixed cost, Ingleton Wood were able to apply their experience to deliver a project on time and without significant further expenditure.

Post completion the project was opened to the public to much acclaim. Both Stakeholders and Dartford residents were impressed by the transformation of a dilapidated 1960’s municipal swimming pool into a state of the art modern leisure centre. The centre now incorporates the original swimming pool, fitness suite with spin studio, dance studios, four court sports hall, café and a completely refurbished changing room area as well as meeting rooms and ancillary spaces. The building has far greater energy performance, is compliant with current standards and boasts facilities for all levels of access with lifts and hoists.

We have a long standing relationship with Dartford Borough Council and were excited to be part of this scheme, which represents one of the largest single investments the Council has made.
