Harwich and Dovercourt High School Window Refurbishment

Harwich and Dovercourt High School Window Refurbishment

To continue our ongoing 10 year relationship with The Harwich & Dovercourt High School, Ingleton Wood were successful in collaborating with the school to secure £900k worth of funding from the ESFA to replace dilapidated windows to the main teaching block.

Ingleton Wood provided assistance and documentation to support the school with their Condition Improvement Fund application on a speculative nature. Upon award of the funding, Ingleton Wood were employed to carry out architectural and building surveying services to replace the existing dilapidated single glazing whilst modernising the existing facade. With careful programming, Ingleton Wood were able to develop a programme of works that enabled the window replacement to be executed within school term time. The works were completed one month ahead of schedule and were delivered on budget.

Ingleton Wood provided full architectural design, contract administration, structural advice, as well as principal designer services. The new replacement glazing has not only dramatically improved the aesthetics of the school but has also significantly improved the thermal and acoustic performance of the class spaces behind.
