Ingleton Wood New London Office

Ingleton Woods London office was relocated to new premises nearby. The aspiration was to create a showcase office design to provide an open plan office with a variety of working areas to allow for Agile working and enable staff to have flexibility in how and where they work within the office.

We provided Architecture, Interior design, Project Management and Contract Administration services. A space utilisation study was undertaken to establish how the current office spaces were being utilised and highlight any issues. The outcome showed how often staff were out of the office and there was a lack of collaboration and quiet areas. This data solidified our understanding of how the new office could incorporate agile working. Workshops were held to engage with staff so they could fully understand and embrace the proposed new ways of working.

A variety of concept design layouts were produced which incorporated a mixture of working spaces. The office is split into two key areas. The ‘Concentrate’ area contains individual pods, booths, high benches and single workstations to enable quiet working, plus the main meeting room. The ‘Collaboration area’ focuses around an open plan kitchen with a large bespoke central table that can be used for working, meetings, team working and social. The main office consists of shared and some height adjustable desks to allow maximum flexibility. Additionally, high benches, meeting pod and small meeting rooms provide a mixture of available spaces. The selected furniture plays a key part in creating a variety of different working spaces.

The Interior finishes of the spaces reflect the external envelope of the building and incorporate the natural landscape. Feature walls provide interest to areas which contain a mixture of products such as brick effect, bark, cork, birch, Moss etc. Flooring defines areas bringing a variety of textures and colour. Biophilic design was an important part of the design, to achieve this we incorporated planting, used natural products and those which reflected nature.

We have been shortlisted in the Mixology20 Awards Project of the Year category (Workplace Interiors Category 1 – sub 5,000 sq ft) after unveiling our forward-thinking London office.
