Ingleton Wood were commissioned to provide multidisciplinary services in relation to a fire reinstatement project at a local authority spa. The fire damaged the entirety of the basement spa and associated mechanical and electrical installations, as well as causing damage to the upper floors of the leisure centre.
The spa, which is situated within a Grade II listed historic building has housed a public bathhouse since it was built in 1931, includes a range of state-of-the-art facilities. The refurbished spa is a significant improvement on the facilities that were in place before the fire, including many new and innovative features.
The fit out was completed to an extremely high standard, within 13 months of commencement. The new spa facilities include 2 separate saunas (including Himalayan salt walls and juniper wood walls), steam rooms, Turkish hot rooms, ice room, plunge pool, relaxation room, Hammam treatment benches, herb bar, showers and changing areas.
