Ingleton Wood were appointed to consider the existing Civil Engineering Services (CES) and Defense Infrastructure Organization (DIO) facilities within the Industrial and Administrative area of RAF Lakenheath. The project was to consider this area as a whole and advise on the optimisation of these facilities to provide a healthy, flexible, and space efficient working environment.
The Utilisation Study (UtS) process was broken down into two stages. The first stage assessed the existing facilities to identify the functional requirements against end user need and associated CATCODE. It recorded the current occupancies and space associated, along with workshop and storage spaces etc. The second stage reviewed the LRS vacated buildings to obtain information on the current usage of each facility along with current occupancies, visual condition, and any specific building arrangements.
The result of the study provided an environment which is appropriate for the modern digital era actively promoting sustainable collaborative working with a strong customer focus. It made use of existing assets and released redundant assets that could be used for other operations or create substantial space for future growth at RAF Lakenheath.
Our services have included, project management, architecture, mechanical, electrical, and public health engineering, cost management, risk management, and fire engineering.
