Mandy Cheung, an interior designer based at our London office has been recognised for her creative flair at the prestigious Clerkenwell Design Week – helping to raise vital funds for charity.
Mandy was praised by judges after taking on a brief led by furniture designer and manufacturer Actiu to upcycle its iconic ‘Badminton’ chair.
Every design was presented before a panel of international judges who selected three winning pieces to showcase and auction off in support of UK cancer support charity, Maggie’s. Founded in 1996 in Edinburgh, Maggie’s offers free, practical, emotional and social support to cancer sufferers and their family and friends.
To support Mandy’s endeavours, the Partners at Ingleton Wood surprised her by taking part in the charity auction and buying her chair – raising a total of £700.
As the only interior designer chosen among the winners, Mandy, said: “This was a challenging task, but I am delighted my design was a success amongst the judges and managed to raise crucial funds for the charity.
“I am thrilled the Partners supported me with this project by matching the highest bid during the charity auction and cannot wait for my design to be showcased in our offices. It was a great surprise!”
Stuart Norgett, Partner at our London office, said: “We couldn’t be happier for Mandy. She’s an incredibly talented member of the team and it’s great that all her hard work has paid off. We were only too pleased to place a bid on the iconic ‘Wigzie’ chair and support such a worthwhile charity.”
