We have recently appointed Beata Chapman as our new Learning and Development Specialist to support and drive our ambitious skills training strategy across the Practice.
Here at Ingleton Wood, a Silver Investors in People company for the past decade, we are firm believers in investing in our local teams and homegrown talent, such as our amazing apprentices, while providing the tools and resources to constantly upskill our dedicated workforce and ensure they remain expert leaders in their disciplines.

Why has Ingleton Wood created this new position?
We want to offer inclusive access to a wide range of training opportunities to upskill our knowledgeable and motivated teams of all ages – from experienced experts to budding apprentices – while consolidating all training initiatives under our HR department.
What does Ingleton Wood hope to achieve with the creation of this new role?
I will help manage new streamlined training interventions via our online Bamboo HR portal and Building Business internal dashboard to introduce a meaningful and tailored approach to our training strategy. This will support our teams with their development and our staff with their career paths.
What are the most important reasons why companies should invest in their teams?
Prioritising the health and safety, job satisfaction, morale and skills development of your teams will expand their horizons and create an inclusive, collaborative culture.
Nothing stands still, and so a continuous development strategy and culture is also necessary to stay ahead in a competitive market.
What are some surprising benefits of company training?
You’ll see the behavioural changes in your teams within a learning culture where people feel more included and happier within their environments. Interestingly, we learn the most from our day-to-day work and interactions with others. Only 10% comes from attending training sessions (the 70/20/10 L&D model).
Clearly, the most desirable result is to transfer the theory into practice and make it a sustainable behavioural change.
And finally – how would you describe the Ingleton Wood culture in terms of CPD and training support?
We are lucky having so many knowledgeable, experienced and ambitious colleagues at IW. There is a huge drive and accountability for their own professional development: all CPDs are organised by the employees or within their teams.
IW is very supportive of training and self-development – and we encourage everyone to reach their full potential with the support, tools and resources they need.
