Our Norwich team has double cause for celebration after scooping a top award for our built environment impact and investing in staff wellbeing and skills – while Architect Darren Fowler has been promoted to Partner following strong growth in the Defence sector.
Ingleton Wood won the Excellence in Business Award at the Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards 2022 organised by the Norfolk Constructing Excellence Club which supports businesses with innovation, collaboration and best practice.
The Excellence in Business Award recognises ‘outstanding’ SMEs who are leaders in their field and demonstrate staff investment via training, upskilling, developing new talent, and organisational culture.
The category also celebrates excellence in health and wellbeing, supply chain and community engagement, achieving business goals, and providing added value to projects.
Our Practice has played significant roles at major riverside developments in Norwich, including Canary Quay and St Anne’s Quarter, delivering over 500 sustainable homes on brownfield, contaminated or archeologically compromised sites despite challenges.
Meanwhile, our Norwich team is thriving in the residential sector, working on projects such as the 350-home affordable mix St Giles Park development.
Partner John Dixon said: “A major factor in our success has been developing our multi-disciplinary model. We have a strong and growing team of planners, architects, surveyors and engineers to give our clients a full end-to-end service for design – offering huge benefits and making us unique in the regional marketplace.
“We’re proud of the role we’re playing in the development of the City and wider county and that’s why we were thrilled to receive this fantastic recognition at the Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards.
“It’s put a huge smile on everyone’s faces and we look forward to continuing delivering projects for our fantastic clients whilst achieving sustainable growth in a great business.”
Meanwhile, Darren Fowler, who joined us in 2017, has been recognised with a Partner promotion following strong growth in the Defence and Security sector.
Our specialist team provides a suite of multi-disciplinary design services for projects across Ministry of Defence (MoD) and United States Air Force (USAF) estates, including architecture, design management, building services, building surveying, planning, structural and civil engineering, DREAM, health & safety services, sustainability, and low carbon consultancy.
Darren said: “I feel very privileged to become a Partner at Ingleton Wood and I’m looking forward to helping shape the future of our Practice.
“I qualified as an Architect in 2015 after a decade of part-time study at Lincoln University, and I’m a strong advocate of part-time and apprenticeship training which I think provides the best of both worlds of academia and the day-to-day challenges of the construction industry.
“My main focus since joining Ingleton Wood has been developing the Defence and Security sector – supporting the maintenance, development and optimisation of the UK MoD estate, USAF estate, and other security-related assets and establishments.
“This requires a dedicated set of skills to manage successfully within an ever-changing environment and it’s been very rewarding to achieve sustainable growth and see this sector become a significant part of what Ingleton Wood offer, both regionally and nationally.”
Managing Partner David Cresswell said: “Darren has demonstrated a clear commitment to the ongoing development of our Defence and Security sector, achieving strong growth and carefully building up the skillset of his team, and is fully deserving of his promotion to Partner.”
