Ingleton Wood at the Listed Property Show 2025: preserving the past, building for the future Wednesday, 5th February 2025

Ingleton Wood proudly attended this year’s Listed Property Show at London Olympia, reaffirming our commitment to supporting owners and custodians of heritage estates and listed buildings.

The Listed Property Show offers a unique platform for exploring innovative solutions, sharing knowledge, and addressing the challenges of maintaining and restoring historic estates.

As experts in preserving and enhancing heritage estates and listed buildings, our team was delighted to participate in this leading industry event.

Sharing expert insights at the Listed Property Show

Our Director, Peter Webb, contributed to two key sessions during this year’s event;

Extending a listed building

As part of a panel discussion, Peter engaged with fellow industry leaders and an inquisitive audience to explore the challenges and opportunities of extending heritage properties.

Audience questions highlighted the need to balance historic integrity with modern functionality, ensuring seamless integration of new additions without compromising the building’s character.

Heating and Renewable Energy Options

Peter also delivered a detailed presentation on sustainable heating solutions for listed properties.

Covering heat pump options, biomass and HVO boilers, and direct electric heating, Peter outlined the benefits, challenges, and feasibility of each approach. A key takeaway was the importance of tailoring solutions to each property’s specific requirements, ensuring compliance with conservation regulations, whilst improving energy efficiency.

Decarbonisation and heritage conservation

This year’s Listed Property Show featured many engaging talking points, with the most notable being; decarbonisation and sustainable retrofitting. The show also underscored the importance of improving thermal and energy efficiency in heritage buildings through insulation, window glazing, and heat pumps.

With a growing need for energy-efficient solutions, the challenges associated with listed buildings were also at the forefront of discussions. These buildings, while steeped in history, present unique challenges that require specialist expertise to meet modern standards.

As a leader in low-carbon retrofitting and M&E engineering for heritage assets, Ingleton Wood ensures historic properties remain functional, energy-efficient, and sustainable for generations to come.
