Ingleton Wood is proud to have worked with Cringleford Parish Council (CPC) to deliver a transformative new facility at St Giles Park, Norfolk.
This development includes a state-of-the-art sports hall with changing facilities and a dedicated nursery building, addressing critical needs within the growing local community.

Sonya Blythe, Parish Clerk for Cringleford Parish Council, commented on Ingleton Wood’s involvement in the development;
“CPC is delighted with The Jubilee Centre. Ingleton Wood used our brief to design an innovative building that blends in extremely well with the local area. It exceeded our expectations, especially in its environmental credentials and the facilities we can offer the Community. It will be a real asset to the Parish for many years to come.”
Supporting local growth
This project creates essential spaces for two key community uses; an updated nursery, and new sports facilities.
The nursery, operated by Crackerjacks, will provide a dedicated site for children from the age of two years old, as an addition to their existing premises which are primarily for preschool-aged children.
Karen Latoy, Manager at Cringleford Crackerjacks, highlighted the positive impact this development will have on the nursery;
"Our lovely new Crackerjacks Nursery is everything we hoped and planned for. Working with Ingleton Wood has enabled us to see our needs and wishes become a reality and we are absolutely delighted with the result. Our Nursery is a wonderful space for young children to play, learn and grow and is exactly what we wanted."
Meanwhile, the sports hall will offer a versatile space suitable for badminton, volleyball, and other indoor activities, alongside changing facilities serving both the sports hall and nearby outdoor pitches.

Integrated design for dual-use
One of the project’s key challenges was designing a dual-use facility that ensures the security of the nursery while maintaining open and accessible spaces for sports hall users.
Ingleton Wood's architectural and planning teams carefully crafted a solution during the design process, balancing the needs of both user groups while creating an attractive and unique building that enhances the surrounding residential site.
A focus on sustainability
Aligned with modern environmental standards, the facility includes several sustainable features:
- Renewable energy: PV panels on the upper roof and air source heat pumps provide low-carbon energy solutions.
- Natural ventilation: wind catchers bring energy-efficient ventilation to the sports hall.
- EV infrastructure: electric vehicle charging points have been installed in the car park.
All of which reinforces the project’s commitment to energy efficiency and long-term sustainability.

Collaboration and expertise
Ingleton Wood provided comprehensive architectural, planning, and principal designer services for the project, working collaboratively with Structural and Civil Engineers, Rossi Long Consulting, Mechanical Services Engineers, Clear Consulting and Design Ltd, and Electrical Services Engineers, ALH Design.
A legacy in St Giles Park
This project builds upon Ingleton Wood’s extensive involvement in St Giles Park; a residential site comprising 350 homes designed by The Practice for Big Sky Developments, with the new facilities serving as a community hub within this growing neighbourhood and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors.
Progress and future impact
Following conditional planning approval in August 2023, construction commenced that same month. The nursery was officially handed over in October 2024 with the sports hall completed in November of the same year.
The new facilities will provide much-needed services, fostering community engagement and supporting active, family-oriented lifestyles.
This project exemplifies Ingleton Wood’s commitment to designing spaces that enhance facilities for local communities, combining thoughtful design with practical solutions for modern needs.
