Ingleton Wood reflects on MIPIM 2025 Wednesday, 19th March 2025

MIPIM, The Global Urban Festival, once again brought together key players from across the property and construction industries for an invaluable four days of networking, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Ingleton Wood was proud to have a strong presence at 2025’s event, with representatives from across our practice seizing the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, strengthen relationships, and explore new opportunities.

From hosting our first-ever networking lunch to contributing to industry-leading conversations and even joining the daily early-morning running club, our team made the most of an action-packed week in Cannes, France.

Here’s a look at who attended from Ingleton Wood, and their key takeaways from MIPIM 2025.

Andrew Harper-Rowe | Director at Ingleton Wood

“Attending MIPIM for the first time with Ingleton Wood was a fantastic experience, as it provided a platform to gain fresh insights into the ever-evolving built environment.

Despite the somewhat unpredictable weather in Cannes this year(!), the energy and enthusiasm the event generates remained ever-present, and it was great to meet with both fresh and familiar faces from across our industry.

From a civil and structural engineering perspective, MIPIM enabled us to engage with industry challenges and opportunities from a fresh angle, resulting in really insightful conversations taking place throughout the week.

A particular takeaway from this year’s discussions was the distinct contrast in momentum between the public and private sectors. Public sector projects are moving forward, supported by more readily available funding. While the private sector, though maintaining a strong appetite for development, are approaching opportunities with a degree of caution due to broader global uncertainties. However, there was firm optimism that confidence is expected to grow over time.

MIPIM 2025 reinforced the energy driving our industry, and highlighted the collective impact we can all make on the built environment. It was a very productive week, and I look forward to seeing our conversations evolve in the months ahead.”

Daniel Legg | Partner at Ingleton Wood

“MIPIM 2025 was an excellent event, with a great buzz throughout and a strong attendance.

It continues to be one of the leading annual events in the industry, and we’re already looking forward to returning next year.

The dedicated week in Cannes offers a unique opportunity to network with fellow industry professionals who are all there for the same reason; creating a focused environment for open dialogue and business development.

This year, I was pleasantly surprised by the diverse range of participants, from smaller sole traders to larger global organisations; MIPIM provided a space for every niche in the industry, more so than ever before.

What truly sets MIPIM apart is the dedicated networking time it offers. It brings together people who you might not ordinarily have the chance to meet in day-to-day business, making it an invaluable platform for fostering new connections and exploring fresh opportunities.”

Simon Gorst | Partner at Ingleton Wood

“As with every MIPIM event, this year’s edition once again provided the ideal environment to forge new business relationships and strengthen existing connections – and I believe this year was Ingleton Wood’s boldest and most impactful presence to date.

A particular highlight was hosting our first-ever networking lunch at MIPIM, held in partnership with Birketts LLP. It was fantastic to see new connections formed and business being done at the table - reinforcing the true value of in-person networking for our continued success as a practice.

I’m pleased to have attended (and completed!) all four Property Sports Network networking runs throughout MIPIM 2025. It was a wonderful way to explore Cannes at sunrise and kick off the day’s events. It also provided an active and novel way to network with fellow professionals from a wide range of disciplines within the built environment.

Despite the slightly unseasonal weather this year, there was a prevailing sense of optimism and opportunity throughout the event, and one thing is certain; the entrepreneurial drive within the built environment remains strong, and Ingleton Wood is well-positioned to seize and support these opportunities.

While there is some caution and uncertainty within the private sector, especially concerning debt repayments and distressed assets, MIPIM remains a standout event in the calendar for us at Ingleton Wood and our broader industries, and I’m excited to see where our new connections will take us in the future!”

Stuart Norgett | Partner at Ingleton Wood

“MIPIM 2025 proved to be an exceptional opportunity for networking, with engaging conversations taking place throughout the week with both long-standing and new connections. I'm excited to see where these relationships lead and the potential opportunities they might bring.

A key theme that emerged in many discussions was the growing impact of AI and its impact on our industry. However, it’s encouraging to know that Ingleton Wood is well-positioned to harness its potential, thanks to our commitment to innovation and enthusiastic adoption of new technologies.

As always, Cannes was the perfect backdrop for networking, and I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the spirited boules competition on the beachfront - an excellent way to connect with industry professionals in a more informal setting!”
