We’re proud to celebrate the success of the Hellesdon Rivers Centre, winner of the ‘New Build Project of the Year’ award at Healthcare Estates 2025!
Working closely with Relabond Ltd and the wider project team, Ingleton Wood’s Cambridge-based M&E and Sustainability Team played a key role in designing the new wards and gym facility at Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich.
The development reflects Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust’s commitment to sustainability, with the project achieving Net Zero Carbon and BREEAM Excellent ratings, achieved by:
- Integrating the energy hierarchy and adopting a fabric-first approach
- Installing air source heat pumps for heating and domestic hot water
- Incorporating on-site photovoltaics to maximise energy efficiency
