Ingleton Wood are proud to have played a key role in the design and refurbishment of Mottingham Library, the latest to reopen as part of the London Borough of Bromley’s £11m improvement programme.
Building on our work at Southborough, Beckenham, Burnt Ash, and Chislehurst Libraries, our multidisciplinary team provided project management, building surveying, spatial design, and building services consulting, working closely with the London Borough of Bromley and GLL to transform the library into a modern, inclusive, and technology-rich community space.
Officially unveiled by the Mayor of Bromley, the refurbishment includes essential upgrades such as a new heating system, LED lighting, a new accessible WC, improved layout, new flooring, roof works, and door and window replacements.
We also supported the creation of new facilities funded by Arts Council England, including a podcasting studio, coding equipment, craft machines, and a 3D printer; part of the borough’s innovative ‘Transformation Library’ offer. A refreshed garden and a new children’s mural further enhance the space’s sense of creativity and community.
It’s fantastic to see people already engaging with the new features, and we thank everyone involved in bringing this revitalised hub to life!
