Ingleton Wood announces new partner appointments Wednesday, 18th March 2026

Ingleton Wood are delighted to announce the promotion of both Wes Henderson and Max Chapman to Partner, with their appointments taking effect from 1st April 2026.

With a combined service of over thirty years, their appointments recognise their outstanding contribution to the Practice, strengthening our multidisciplinary approach, supporting the development of our teams, and delivering high-quality projects for our clients.

Wes’s journey

Wes started his career as an electrical apprentice within a family-run firm based in Cambridge, learning the ropes both on the tools and in the office before moving into electrical design.  Following this, he joined one of the largest architectural firms in the UK, helping to establish and grow a small M&E engineering team working on a local county framework.

Wes joined Ingleton Wood 14 years ago and has worked across the Practice contributing to the growth of the company, our teams, and our multidisciplinary approach.

Wes comments that “the Practice was small enough when I first joined that I could almost name everyone within the company; and although we’ve grown significantly since then, the way in which we work and the relationships within Ingleton Wood have always remained the same. I feel proud to have been a part of that journey and look forward to seeing what the future brings.”

Max’s journey

Max’s journey with Ingleton Wood spans nearly two decades, beginning in 2007 as an Architectural Trainee, the Practice supported him through his degree and professional qualifications. Max leads the architectural side of the design team in Colchester with a focus on delivering significant projects and growing a thriving team.

Max guides apprentices, leads the education sector, and has worked to strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration. His dedication to the Colchester office and the wider practice, clients, colleagues, and the IW community—through governance, coaching, mentoring, and sector engagement—reflects a career built on integrity, resilience, and a genuine passion for bringing people and projects forward.

Max said "My journey has been shaped by the people around me—teams built, challenges shared, opportunities embraced, and successes earned together. I’m proud of how far we've come, and excited for what we can continue to build.”

David Cresswell, Managing Partner at Ingleton Wood, commented:

“I am extremely pleased to welcome Wes and Max to the Ingleton Wood Partnership board. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and I’m excited to see the lasting impact they will have as we continue to grow, innovate, and further strengthen the Practice.”
