Ingleton Wood reflects on DPRTE 2026 Thursday, 2nd April 2026

In an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving world, this year’s Defence Procurement, Research, Technology and Exportability (DPRTE) exhibition and conference reinforced the critical importance of strategic collaboration and adaptability across the UK’s defence sector.

Ingleton Wood were proud to exhibit, connect, and engage with peers across the defence and secure infrastructure sector while showcasing our expertise in delivering robust, sustainable, and future-ready solutions for complex, mission-critical environments.

This year’s conference programme opened with addresses from the Minister for Defence Procurement and the National Armaments Director, both emphasising the need for smarter investment, faster delivery, and greater SME participation.

The message was clear: the defence landscape is evolving rapidly and requires innovative, resilient, and future-ready infrastructure to support operational success; challenges that Ingleton Wood’s defence and secure infrastructure team are expertly placed to meet.

With decades of multidisciplinary experience, Ingleton Wood supports UK defence estates, including MoD and USVF (DoD), delivering end-to-end consultancy and design services for operationally critical projects. Our experience, capability, and attitude transfer across the entire secure infrastructure sector, including governmental, FCDO, MoJ, etc.

Our teams have the required security clearances and system approvals, and are experienced working in live, sensitive environments, ensuring continuity of operations and delivering robust, compliant results.

We combine our in-house architecture, building surveying, planning, building services, civil and structural engineering, sustainability consulting, CDM, BRPD, and project management teams and skills into cohesive solutions that reflect real‑world operational needs. From mission‑critical facilities and high security buildings to fuel installations, hangars, medical and dental centres, and base masterplanning, our commissions span the full breadth of defence infrastructure typologies.

These services are delivered through established procurement frameworks and contractor supply chains, providing compliant, auditable routes to engagement that accelerate mobilisation and reduce administrative friction.

Tim Colman, Defence Director at Ingleton Wood, commented on this year’s exhibition and the importance of early engagement;

"Our presence at DPRTE 2026 reinforced that delivering effective defence capability is a collective effort. Our integrated services and delivery approach are increasingly in demand, with thanks received from DIO, main contractors, clients, and installing contractors throughout the event."

"By engaging early and partnering with multidisciplinary experts, organisations can navigate regulatory complexity, manage risk, and shape infrastructure that delivers long-term strategic impact. We believe that early design and consultancy involvement is essential to deliver compliant, operational, and cost-effective solutions that meet the full scope of operational requirements."

Ingleton Wood’s defence and secure infrastructure sector expertise means we don’t just deliver multi-faceted commissions; we help our clients implement infrastructure strategies that enhance capability, support operational readiness, and endure through evolving challenges.
