Ingleton Wood supported St George’s Church of England School, Gravesend with an application of an expansion project under the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) government initiative for the construction of a new state of the art science facility to replace the school’s existing dilapidated science block. Ingleton Wood provided all supporting documentation to the Education Funding Authority (EFA) and the school were successful in obtaining a grant for £2m.
The design across two floors included the provision of 5 additional science laboratories, technician preparation rooms, student breakout space as well as new open plan male and female sanitary accommodation with vibrant colour scheme and feature centralised hand washing trough.
The new facility is located centrally on the school site and Ingleton Wood worked closely with the school to manage the strict limitations and logistical challenges the site posed.
Ingleton Wood provided a multi-disciplinary service, including all architectural, civil and structural, mechanical and electrical design, full tender and procurement delivery, contract administration and CDM services from inception through to completion. The works were completed on time and within budget.
