At very short notice, Ingleton Wood assembled a team of in-house building surveyors to inspect ten separate buildings on the Norwich Union site in the central business district of Norwich. The surveys were commissioned to provide independent professional advice in connection with the client’s proposed acquisition of the freehold interest of the site for investment purposes.
The buildings were a mixture of different styles and types of building construction, some dating back to the nineteenth century with others built in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Some were of high rise steel and/ or concrete framed construction. Others had solid brick walls, or local stone and imported marble.
The buildings were occupied by various types of businesses and access was eventually obtained to all the buildings occupied by Norwich Union Insurance, (now known as Aviva) including the company’s Grade One listed headquarters building. Access was also obtained to inspect the Lloyds TSB bank, the Mecca Bingo building and a large number of small shops and offices.
Our survey reports, one for each separate building, were prepared and issued within a week of the date of instruction.
