Ingleton Wood Martindales partnered with Mansell Construction and Defence Estates in a nine-year Framework Agreement established in order to improve the entire USAF housing stock across the country.
In many cases the scope of the improvement works was wide enough to justify some housing being demolished to slab level and new timber-frame housing constructed on the same footprint with extensions.
The Framework Agreement embraces all the principles of Latham and Egan; the supply chain was involved in the design process from the start and contributed to the 3-D CAD modelling of the house types. The projects were managed on a paper-less basis using the latest internet-based information distribution system on both sides of the Atlantic.
The Framework delivered over 1000 new and improved homes and it was such a success that projects were also included for the US Navy.
The housing sites were located across the country; we carried out projects from Cornwall via London and up to North Yorkshire. At the 2006 Building Awards organised by Building Magazine, the Housing Framework won the ‘Integrated Supply Chain of the Year’ award.
