Our Sustainability Associate, Robert Diamond is now trained as a lead assessor in the new Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).
The criteria for inclusion to ESOS is not entirely straightforward, but essentially it applies to any large undertaking that carries out a trade or a business and any corporate group where at least one member of the UK group meets the ESOS criteria.
A large undertaking is one that employs at least 250 people or has an annual turnover in excess of €50 million and a balance sheet in excess of €43 million. Most public sector bodies are excluded, but some, such as many Universities may well qualify.
A clear ‘Guide to ESOS’ is located here: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/351158/ESOS_Guide_FINAL.pdf
If you feel you may need to implement this scheme or would like to find out more, please do not hesitate to contact Robert via robert.diamond@ingletonwood.co.uk who will be pleased to advise.
