Ingleton Wood reflects on its growing reputation in the defence sector and responds to the Spring Budget announcement Friday, 4th April 2025

The Spring Budget announcement and attending Defence, Procurement, Research, Technology & Exportability (DPRTE) for the 6th consecutive year provides the perfect opportunity to reflect on the significant progress Ingleton Wood has made in the defence and secure infrastructure sector.

The recent Spring Budget announcement highlighted a significant commitment to defence and infrastructure growth, with £13 billion in additional capital spend allocated, alongside a £2.2 billion boost for defence funding next year; demonstrating the UK’s ongoing focus on strengthening its defence capabilities.

Our in-house multidisciplinary expertise continues to make a significant impact on mission-critical projects and has earned us a strong reputation for delivering specialist consultancy services.

This expertise has led to successful collaborations with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Ministry of Justice (MoJ), Tier 1 Contractors, private security providers, police authorities, aviation industries, secure infrastructure providers, and collaborations with global consultancies.

Ingleton Wood's Partner and Architect, Darren Fowler, responded to the recent Spring Budget announcement and commented on Ingleton Wood’s growing reputation within the defence sector:

"The additional capital spend and the boost to defence funding next year underscores the UK’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its defence capabilities, and as a practice, Ingleton Wood are well-positioned to support this growth. Our decades of experience in delivering specialist consultancy services, combined with our multidisciplinary expertise, allow us to effectively contribute to the continued development and resilience of the UK’s defence infrastructure."

"In light of this, it’s encouraging to witness the growing interest from major contractors and consultancies eager to collaborate with us. Particularly notable is the increasing number of partners who recognise our shared values and commitment to excellence and innovation. Being in a position to select partners whose principles align with our own is a testament to our strengthening reputation and growing standing within the industry."

"Our Defence leadership team remains dedicated to providing innovative and sustainable solutions that support the UK’s defence infrastructure; whether enhancing resilience, improving operational efficiency, or driving net zero initiatives, we continue to play a pivotal role in supporting both public and private sector clients.”

As we look to the future, we’re confident that the momentum we’ve built so far will continue - and with further investment in our people and partnerships, we are excited to expand our impact within the defence and secure infrastructure sector.
